Thanks for the comment. I think having it at the top makes sense for certain sites, but not all. It depends on how likely it is for someone to arrive at the wrong country site. 

I agree about YouTube, they have an overaggressive country/language sniffer that doesn&#039;t seem to be able to remember preferences.</description>

		<description>my two cents:  i think this is a good idea in theory, but in application, not so much.  i&#039;m used to the country locator being on top.  i wouldn&#039;t have guessed to look at the bottom of the page for it.  plus, you kind of have to scroll down to reach the bottom of the page.  what if you kept the country locator on top and had the list expand off to the side?  nvm, maybe that&#039;s the same as having it expand downwards.

one of my biggest pet peeves in japan is when the webpage automatically converts everything into japanese.  since i&#039;m illiterate, it&#039;s like i&#039;m navigating a once-familiar page blindly (like youtube).  and i couldn&#039;t find the language changer for the longest time, so i basically stopped using the site.  just a random story.</description>
